1. Gardens Magic 2023
This free family-friendly experience from January 10 to 29 is unmissable at Wellington Botanic Garden. Enjoy 18 outdoor concerts, arts and performances in a variety of genres. 2. Laugh with Jimmy Carr
Award-winning British comedian Jimmy Carr is gracing the Micheal Fowler stage with his world tour Terribly Funny on January 14 and 15. Comedy fans won’t want to miss one of the funniest TV hosts and star of 8 Out Of 10 Cats in the UK. His controversial one-liners will have you falling off your seat with laughter. 3. Go on an adventure with Pinocchio
Pinocchio: The Pantomime is a showcase featuring all your favourite characters from the nostalgic storybook. Tickets begin at $18 for the two-hour show and it finishes on January 14.

4. Explore Wellington’s history at a new exhibition
Te Whanganui-a-Tara is a huge new interactive exhibition exploring Wellington’s history and culture through a large-scale timeline, dating back to the Te Orokohanga. Developed with Wellington-based artists, creatives and scientists, it tells stories right up to the pandemic of today.

5. Learn why we are all DOOMED
UK comedy sensation and best-selling author, Daniel Howell, is bringing his We’re All Doomed Tour 2023 to Wellington on January 26.
