If you were looking for more photo opportunities, this giant new instagrammable sign in Wellington is unmissable. Bizarrely, this $130,000 budget-project sign is missing the letter I.
However, the forgotten I is actually on purpose. Consequently, each visitor can stand on the platform to replace the letter I. Indeed, this makes one become part of the sign…which develops into ‘I am in Wellington’.
According to Wellington Council, the sculpture was commissioned by WellingtonNZ. Additionally, it’s 2.2 metres high and 8.9 metres wide.
Excitingly, both travellers and locals can snap some fun photo experiences with the sign post, and share them with the world on social media using the #inwellington tag.
Currently, the sculpture is yellow, red and teal. Though, it has been created to be repainted, as well as relocated to other parts of Wellington. For now, it sits on the waterfront side of Te Papa.
Indeed, this new instagrammable sign has created an optimistic buzz in Wellington. Certainly, this installation is one of the newest instagrammable places in Wellington.
