Plant a tree for positivity in 2021.
New Zealand is encouraging people around the world to turn their 2020 disappointments into a ‘forest of hope’.
As the Coronavirus pandemic has rocked the entire world, Tourism New Zealand and NGO Trees That Count has reached out to everyone to take part in this signal of positivity.
Anyone can get on board and have their tree planted to start 2021 with a “dose of positivity” after 2020s many negatives. The new trees will be planted in Queenstown and Northland.
If you are interested, head to the New Zealand website. From there, you can plant a tree, and share your 2020 disappointment. You can gift your tree as a positive environmental start to the new year.
Trees That Count invited those across the world to plant a new tree, saying: “It’s been a year. A tough year. 2020 has seen cancelled vacations, postponed weddings, and missed celebrations… right now, we can’t share our beautiful country as we normally would, but we can still add to its beauty, and the health of the environment. Once we’re able to welcome visitors again you can visit your tree, that you helped grow.”
So far, 539 trees have been gifted, and the project is well on its way to creating that full forest of hope!
