Graze Wine Bar opened in April of this year and is the perfect new addition to the food scene in Wellington. If you love pairing delicious wines with environment-friendly dishes, then this 5-star reviewed place is unmissable.
Located in Kelburn, the stunning wine bar takes over a former butchers and features a cosy 22-seater space complete with bench seating and an open wooden kitchen, decked in florals, recycling materials and wall prints boosting a relaxing ambience.
Concepted by owners Chicago-born chef Max Gordy and his partner Stina Persen, expect a range of ethically conscious dishes with ingredients locally sourced in New Zealand.
The wine bar exhibits a small but ever-changing menu and drinks list reflecting the seasons in Wellington. Expect unusual pairings and potentially some techniques influenced by Gordy’s culinary adventures in South America.
Additionally, diners can indulge on the likes of Porcini Perogies, Eggplant, Focaccia Pizza, Vegetables with Tuna Mayo or the Johnny Cakes, which are a polenta pancakes, macadamia puree, with roasted fennel stalks and sliced fennel, topped with grated macadamia, to name a few.
Dishes are designed for sharing and go excellently paired with something from the extensive wine list. Certainly, wine lovers will enjoy an array of New Zealand classics.
