1. The Welsh Dragon Bar
This fantastic spot is the only Welsh pub in the Southern Hemisphere. Promising a wide selection of drink deals, including plenty British beers on tap, and cheap pub grab…you won’t be left sadden.

Another seriously cheap spot for a cold one paired with some belly-filling grub. Likewise, they cater for gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian diets, so none of your crew will feel left out.

3. The Residence
This joint is a must-visit and one of the cheapest bars in Wellington. Every Monday to Sunday, happy hour is from 5pm – 7pm. Opt for one of the many daily deals such as 2 for 1 burgers on a Tuesday for the most pleasurable experience at The Residence bar.

4. Vinyl Bar
This retro bar is a favourite for good music and the cheapest drinks around. With a large variety of spirits, local draught beers, cocktails and tasty dishes…you’ll be spoilt for choice. Wednesday is the best time to go as all drinks are $6 for the night. But if you are looking for something a little classier, head on Saturdays for a 2 for $20 deal on teapot cocktails or $13 sangria pitchers.

5. The Rogue & Vagabond
This incredible craft beer bar delivers a delicious food menu in a friendly atmosphere with an array of diverse live music. Likewise, it just so happens to be one of the best places for pizza in Wellington. Pull up a beanbag on the lawn and indulge in an extensive list of craft beers and mouth-watering pizza and burgers. On Tuesdays, Tacos are just $2. What more could you want?

This is the place to go if you desire something a little more exclusive but also a good bargain. Lounge in a cozy, traditional setting while chowing down on some of the finest platters. You can’t go wrong here with 2 for 1 cocktails every Wednesday and 2 for 1 desserts every Tuesday to appease the dedicated foodies tastebuds.

7. Bebemos
This Latin-inspired bar offers Happy Hour every Monday to Thursday, 3pm to 5pm. So if you finish work early and you are in need of a drink, this is the perfect place for you to grab a $15 jug or $7 pint. Bebemos is also host to some great garden parties and a terrific bottomless brunch at the weekend. Indeed, one of the cheapest bars in Wellington.
