2. Wilkies Pool
Embark on a 1.9km adventure track, through the forest around Mt Taranaki, to discover a mind-blowing ancient alpine water slide that meets a plunge pool. The secret water slide was formed by lava more than 20,000 years ago and is popular with adventurists during the summer.

3. Aqualand
Just 20 minutes from Christchurch, this is New Zealand’s most exciting inflatable water park. The massive obstacle course is built on a lake in Kaiapoi, exhibiting plenty of epic water slides to jump down and fun water sports to take part in. Prices begin at $25 for a 50-minute season. Wonderfully, Aqualand opens for the season on December 3.

4. Rere Rockslide
As one of the most unforgettable places in New Zealand, this iconic waterfall slide in Gisborne in a must-visit. Just 30 minutes from the city, grab a bodyboard, float or anything else and zoom into the water below. Excitingly, it is totally free of charge and great fun for both kids and adults.
